CogSci x Gorilla Grant 2025
Accelerating Cognitive Science Through Open Access Research Tools
The Cognitive Science Society and Gorilla Experiment Builder are proud to partner on the CogSci x Gorilla Grant 2025—a new initiative designed to expand access to powerful online experimentation tools and support innovative behavioral and cognitive research around the world.
Together, we aim to empower researchers at all stages of their careers to push the boundaries of science by providing essential resources for conducting high-quality, scalable, and impactful studies.

Who can apply?
This grant is open to researchers worldwide who are:
- CSS members.
- Interested in behavioral or cognitive science research.
- Not currently part of a Gorilla subscription –free (PAYG) accounts are allowed.
- At any career stage or discipline—students, early career researchers, and seasoned academics are all welcome.
What Does the Grant Include?
Each of the five (5) grant recipients will receive:
- One-year Gorilla Researcher Standard Subscription: Valued at $1,510, the subscription includes access to premium tools such as Game Builder, Shop Builder, and Multiplayer
- $300 cash: This can be used to recruit participants, purchase Gorilla tokens, or cover other research-related costs.
- Personalized support: A one-on-one consultation (Study Mapping Session) with a Gorilla Research Specialist to help design and launch your study.
Note: Winners of the grant will be asked to contribute to a Gorilla blog post after building and launching their study which may be published across social channels.
