The Cognitive Science Society is committed to making our annual conference globally accessible. Hybrid conferences support this goal by enabling full synchronous participation for members who cannot or prefer not to travel. However, hybrid formats are significantly more expensive than in-person formats, requiring dedicated technical support and more complex scheduling. The Society aims to break even on conference costs in general (the conference does not generate a profit for the Society), and the online registration structure reflects these added expenses.
